16-year-old Victor Xie, winner of the 2014 Foundation for Chinese Performing Arts Concerto Competition, has established himself as a solo pianist in a myriad of competitions.

Xie’s prizes in the American Fine Arts Festival Competition in 2011 and the International Young Gifted Musician Festival‘s “Passion Of Music 2013” competition have brought him several times to perform at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City. He was a winner at the U.S. Open Music Competition in 2012. A winner in the El Camino Youth Symphony Piano Solo Competition, he performed with the ECYS Sinfonietta Orchestra as soloist in February 2014.

In 2014–2015, he will appear in recital as a winner of the San Francisco State University’s 32nd Annual San Francisco Young Pianists Competition. As the recent first-place winner of the CYS Young Artist Competition, he will also perform with the California Youth Symphony.

Victor Xie began his musical studies at the age of 7 and studies piano with both Erna Gulabyan and Hans Boepple. He attended the California Summer Music Camp in 2012 and the 2013 Adamant Summer Music School. A resident of Palo Alto, California, he attends Ocean Grove Charter School in Placerville. Beyond classical piano, Xie enjoys improvisation and playing violin in the El Camino Youth Senior Symphony.
